Dan is a leader in renewable energy, delivering over 250MW of global projects and driving innovation in clean power solutions

As a creative leader, Martyn has successfully initiated and established diverse projects focused on low-carbon and renewable energy. He specialises in navigating the legislative, planning and regulatory landscapes of renewable energy, ensuring projects meet all necessary requirements. His expertise extends to coordinating funding and financial strategies tailored for these initiatives.

For 14 years, Martyn owned and managed a packaging and logistics company, before dedicating the last 19 years to advancing alternative energy sources, including renewable and synthetic fuels. He has collaborated with energy providers, operators and distributors at every level, bringing a wealth of knowledge to each project.

Having worked closely with Dan and Andy on numerous initiatives over a number of years, their combined experience enables them to deliver a comprehensive range of support and services to partners and clients.

Dan has spent his entire career in the energy and utilities sector, working within diesel, CHP, peaker, wind, solar PV and energy storage projects worldwide. A pioneer in the UK demand-side revolution since 2010, he secured some of the industry’s largest contracts and brings extensive technical expertise in power and electrical systems, including 5 years with a DNO/DSO.

Alongside his technical capabilities, Dan has P&L and balance sheet experience and has led teams of over 35 professionals. Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, Dan’s expertise spans Europe and SE Asia.

As co-founder of ion Ventures Ltd – https://www.ion.ventures/ – an international renewable energy developer, Dan drives clean electrification schemes and flexible power infrastructure. ion received a £10m investment in 2024 from net zero asset manager HYCAP to support regional renewable power production and energy storage across the UK and Ireland.
